My Life

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him." - Psalm 91:14-15 (NIV)
My schedule is usually full between work, ministry, and living life in community!

I am a Jesus-Lover.  I love talking about what I believe to be true.  I write devotions on occasion and have since i was YOUNG.  My devotional site is called Lunchtime Devos.  Whenever I find the time to write a devotional, I usually post it on my site - though, I can't say I'm as fabulous at it as I was when I was a teen.  I love being able to share my faith journey through writing.

Currently, I work full-time with people who have disabilities!  AND I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my job no matter how hard it gets to be! There is much work to be done to create accessibility beyond the construction of a building.  Maybe someday soon we can learn to love all the diversity life has to offer and see each other as equals in our humanity.

In another life (aka - high school and college), my life revolved around music.  I play many instruments still to this day!  Flute, Piano, and Alto Saxophone are my typical go-tos.  Usually, I play for Jesus through the worship team at church!  Music is more than just a hobby.  It is a way to enjoy and embrace life.  Sometimes, music is my therapy!  I firmly believe music is a common language - While not everyone knows how to play an instrument, most know which emotion a song communicates - happy, sad, mad, confused, etc.  It's intriguing to say the least!

I LOVE language.  Whether it is English or another world language, I love learning, listening, and reading!  I have begun learning four languages, though I'm hardly proficient in any of them!  They are Spanish, Hebrew, Swahili, and ASL (American Sign Language).

And I also LOVE the generations.  We differ.  We aggravate each other.  But man - we can't do life without each other.  Wisdom to glean from the young and seasoned.  Inspiration and perseverance to glean from each other when the going gets rough or we get stuck.  Learning to work together?  A beautiful challenge if we're willing.

Beyond that - welcome to my chaotic, broken life.  I acknowledge that I am 100% human and totally reliant on Jesus to hold me together.  But maybe - if all of us broken people can get together with some Jesus, perhaps we can do something really awesome.
